Australia’s second-largest fitness network, Viva Leisure, is expanding its multi-brand portfolio with the launch of a new low-cost gym brand, Zoo Fit.

Marking the company’s entry into the value fitness segment and a significant growth push into Western Australia, the first Zoo Fit locations will open in Wanneroo and Mandurah in late July 2026, with additional Western Australian sites planned shortly after as part of a broader national rollout over the next 12 to 18 months.

The launch represents the next phase of Viva Leisure’s multi-brand growth strategy, which spans premium, mid-market and boutique fitness offerings across Australia, New Zealand and India.

Advising that Zoo Fit is designed to address a clear market gap for high-quality, affordable fitness experiences, Viva Leisure Managing Director and Chief Executive, Harry Konstantinou explained “WA is one of the strongest growth opportunities in the country for fitness, and we saw a clear gap in the market for a genuinely value-led offering that doesn’t compromise on experience.

“Zoo Fit delivers exceptional value boasting world-class equipment, wellness and recovery offerings, and 24/7 access at a price point that makes fitness more accessible to more Australians.”

Zoo Fit memberships will start from $8.88 per week for gym access and $14.88 per week for gym and wellness access.

 

In a first of its kind in the Australian fitness industry, Zoo Fit will also be offering a ‘Fit Fam’ membership allowing families to train together under one flexible membership.

Starting at $24.80 per week, the ‘Fit Fam’ membership covers two adults and two teenagers (aged 13 – 17), with the ability to add up to two additional teenagers.

Konstantinou added “Zoo Fit is part of our diversification strategy.

“By not limiting ourselves to one category or demographic, we’re de-risking growth and building a brand that drives long-term performance for our members, franchisees and shareholders.

“Zoo Fit becomes the missing piece in our portfolio strategy and allows us to serve a broader cross-section of the market.”

 

The company said Western Australia was selected as the launch market due to strong population growth, increasing health and wellness participation, and Viva Leisure’s existing operational footprint in the state.

 

Viva Leisure’s broader growth strategy is underpinned by its proprietary fitness technology ecosystem including Viva Pay, The Hub, Access Control and Fling Pass.

Zoo Fit pre-sales are now open ahead of the July launch. Founding members receive eight weeks free and lock in their membership price for life.
