Viva Leisure has today announced a landmark three-year partnership between its new fitness brand Zoo Fit and the Fremantle Football Club, with the fitness brand named the Official Gym Partner of the club across both the AFL and AFLW programs.

As part of the agreement, the partnership will include stadium branding and fan activations designed to engage members and supporters throughout the season.

The partnership coincides with Zoo Fit’s arrival in Western Australia, with its first club in Wanneroo set to open Saturday 25th July and further locations in Mandurah, Clarkson, Port Kennedy, Butler, Kennedy Park and Forrestdale to follow.

Viva Leisure Chief Marketing and Data Officer Rob Nolan said the partnership reflects the company’s long-term commitment to Western Australia and its investment in healthier, more connected communities.

Nolan enthused “we’re thrilled to be partnering with the Fremantle Dockers AFL and AFLW programs as we expand Zoo Fit across Western Australia.

“This partnership signifies our commitment to the fans, players and the broader sporting community across WA.

“The Freo Dockers are a Club with strong community values, an ambitious vision and a passionate supporter base. We’re looking forward to doing the reps together and helping more West Australians access affordable fitness and wellness experiences.”

Fremantle Football Club Executive General Manager – Commercial, Carissa Pearce welcomed the partnership and said it aligned strongly with the Club’s commitment to health, wellbeing and community connection.

Pearce shared “we’re excited to welcome Zoo Fit as the official gym partner of the Fremantle Dockers across both our AFL and AFLW programs.

“Fremantle has always been a Club that has done things differently and challenges the status quo, we believe that Zoo Fit carries that same ethos of not accepting the way things have always been done.

“They’re taking a different approach to how fitness should work by making their facilities accessible to more people, which aligns strongly with our purpose as a Club of enriching the community.

“We’re proud to be a part of their journey from day one and look forward to building something special that belongs to the WA community.”

The partnership forms part of Viva Leisure’s broader strategy of supporting grassroots sport, local clubs and community initiatives that encourage active lifestyles, inclusion and stronger community connections.

The company currently operates more than over 500 locations across Australia, New Zealand and India, serving more than 680,000 members through brands including Club Lime, Plus Fitness, hiit republic, Club Pilates, GROUNDUP and Supp Society.

The Fremantle Dockers announcement comes as Zoo Fit brings a new model of affordable fitness and wellness to local communities with foundation memberships from just $8.88 per week and eight weeks free for founding members.

Harry Konstantinou, Chief Executive of Viva Leisure said Zoo Fit was designed for changing consumer expectations around affordability and wellness with sites also slated for ACT, NSW and QLD.

Konstantinou added “Zoo Fit is built around the idea that fitness should feel accessible, exciting and community-driven.

“At a time when many Australians are rethinking discretionary spending, we’re focused on making fitness and wellness financially accessible without compromising on quality.

“Traditionally, wellness offerings like saunas and recovery spaces have sat behind premium gym memberships. Zoo Fit is bringing those experiences into a more affordable format, delivering a premium experience without premium pricing.”

Nolan said Zoo Fit was also focused on building a genuine local presence in WA through community partnerships, local employment opportunities and collaborations with sporting organisations, creators and local businesses.

“This isn’t a cookie-cutter gym brand parachuting into WA,” he said.

“We’re building something that reflects the energy of local communities and gives people incredible value without compromising on experience. The Fremantle Dockers partnership is a great example of the kind of local connections we want to build across the state.”

To celebrate the launch, Zoo Fit will host a community open day event Wanneroo 25th July, featuring free access to the clubs, club merchandise giveaways, workouts, fitness challenges, recovery demonstrations, local collaborations and behind-the-scenes tours.
